Solar automation in Somerset West and the Helderberg

We do not sell panels, inverters or batteries. We make the ones you already paid for do more than carry the house through an outage — and we do it from twenty minutes down the road.

  • Based in Gordon’s Bay
  • Board work by a qualified electrician
  • The assessment and its written summary are free
01

The panels stay where they are

Your installer keeps the system, the warranty and the relationship. We never quote against them, because we do not sell the thing they sold you.

  • No panels, no inverters, no batteries
  • We work alongside whoever fitted it
  • Your existing warranties are not our business to disturb
02

The load moves, not the roof

Most houses with solar still heat water at four in the morning on grid power. Moving that one load is usually the largest single change available, and it needs no new panel.

  • Geyser first, then the pool pump
  • Circuits that can be shed, and ones that must not be
  • What it did, in writing, afterwards
03

Close enough to come back

The Helderberg is a twenty-minute drive, not a regional call-out. That matters more than it sounds: commissioning is where these systems are won or lost, and it is rarely finished in one visit.

  • On site for the handover, not just the install
  • On the phone while you are on the roof, if you are an installer
  • Greater Cape Town for the bigger jobs
Where we work

Twenty minutes, most of it

  • Somerset West
  • Strand
  • Gordon's Bay
  • Sir Lowry's Pass
  • Firgrove
  • Croydon
  • Macassar
  • the rest of the Helderberg

Further than that is a conversation rather than a no — we go into greater Cape Town for work that justifies the drive, and we will say plainly when it does not.

How far we come

A first visit

An hour at your board, and a written summary either way.

A clamp meter, last month’s bill, and a note of what we found — whether you buy anything or not.

01

We read what is there

The inverter make and model, what it will talk to, what is on which circuit, and where the geyser and the pool actually sit in the board. Half the surprises in this work are in that hour.

  • Inverter, battery and what they publish
  • Circuit by circuit, on paper
  • Photographs of the board, kept under POPIA
02

You get the summary either way

A written note of what we found and what we would do about it, in order of what it saves. It is yours — take it to somebody else if you like.

  • Free, and free of a follow-up campaign
  • Itemised, so you can cut lines out of it
  • Nothing ordered until you say yes to a number
03

Then a fixed quote

Itemised, in rands, against the things it saves. If the honest answer is that the payback is too long, that is what it will say.

  • No figure on this site is a placeholder for a quote
  • The assessment is allowed to conclude ‘not worth it’
  • Warranty backed by the supplier, claimed through us

Questions

The ones that come up next.

Yes — the workshop is in Gordon’s Bay, so Somerset West, Strand, Sir Lowry’s Pass, Firgrove, Croydon and Macassar are all a short drive. Greater Cape Town is a conversation about whether the job justifies the trip, and we will say so.

No, and that is deliberate. We do not sell panels, inverters or batteries, which is why we can look at the system you already have without it turning into a quote for a new one. If what you need is more generation, you need your installer, not us.

Yes, including the written summary that comes afterwards. What is not free is the work, and that is quoted as a fixed itemised number you can cut lines out of before anything is ordered.

Usually, and gladly. Quite a lot of our work arrives through installers who do the generation side and would rather not carry the integration risk — the installer page sets out the three shapes that takes.
